SEPTEMBER 1, 2008 The regular monthly meeting of Stubbs Town Board was held on Monday, September 1, 2008 at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall. All members were present. Minutes were approved on motion by Lieffring/Zak. Financial Report was approved on motion by Zak/Lieffring. Current bills were ordered paid on motion by Zak/Lieftring. Motion by Lieffring/Zak to donate $50 to Flambeau Valley Arts Ass'n. was passed. There was no public comment. Randy Kramer requested a conditional use permit for a non-metallic mining operation on Parcel #36-41-0 NW-sw Sec. 8 T34N RSW. Since he has a plan for reclamation the Board approved the application on motion by Zak/Lieffring. Dixon presented a proposed budget for 2009 for the Bruce Area Library with a 5.97% increase requested. Motion to approve by Lieffring/Zak passed. Dixon reported on the Amacoy Property Owners Ass'n. meeting held on August 30 at the Town Hall. Jerry Carow had presented a report on work done and further work proposed at the Amacoy boat landing. Rusk Co. owns the boat landing, but the WRA does much of the work. Stubbs has been asked to contribute $3,000. A sign has been posted on the dumpster warning people that it is for the use of the boat landing only, but so far it has been ignored. There was a suggestion that surveillance cameras be put in place. The possibility of developing a picnic area at the Amacoy tubes was discussed. The Board agreed on motion by Lieffring/Zak to appoint 3 persons for the election board on Tuesday, Sept. 9. Next meeting will be held on Monday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. and will be preceded by a comprehensive planning committee meeting. Gert Bonczyk had some questions concerning Indian hunting rights on ceded territory. Motion to adjourn by Lieffring/Zak at 7:35 p.m.
