NOVEMBER 2, 2009 The Town of Stubbs held their annual Budget Hearing at the Town Hall at 7 p.m. on November 2, 2009. The Chairman read the Proposed Budget. There were no questions or comments so the Chairman closed the hearing at 7:07. A meeting to consider the 2009 tax levy followed. The Board recommended that we levy no tax. Lyle Lieffring moved that we levy no tax and George Tomczak seconded. ..Motion carried. The Board moved on to the regular monthly meeting. All members were present. The Pledge of Allegiance was given. Minutes of the last meeting were approved on motion by Zak/Taylor. The Financial Statement was approved on motion by Zak/Taylor. Current bills were audited. Zak moved to donate $50 to the Shop With a Cop fund, seconded by Taylor. Motion to pay current bills by Zak/Taylor passed. PUBLIC COMMENT: Dan Ruiter asked about progress on the proposed ATV trail on River Rd. and South Shore Rd. No signs have been posted by the ATV club. Taylor asked whether the Town should set a policy regarding Board meetings on holidays. Dixon said ve set the meelings each month and can deal with this matter at that time. The Board voted on the Proposed Budget—motion by Taylor/Zak to approve passed. Dixon and Taylor gave a report en the recent Annual Towns Association Conference held at Stevens Point. Several items discussed were new regulations on bidding, early voting, and control of waterways. The Chairman mentioned that FEMA maps for Rusk Co. seem to be inaccurate. Russ Feingold and the DNR will meet with Rusk County to re-evaluate. Lyle Lieffring talked about FEMA and also mentioned the plans to sell the Rusk Co. Nursing Home which will be an issue for discussion at the next Co. Board Meeting to be held on November 10, 2009. Next Board Meeting will be held on December 7, 2009. There being no further public comment, the meeting adjourned at 7:35 p.m. on motion by Zak/Taylor.
