JULY 7, 2008 The regular monthly meeting of Stubbs Town Board was held on Monday, July 7, 2008 at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall. All members were present except Lyle Lieffring. Minutes were approved on motion by ZaK/Dixon. Financial Report was approved on motion by ZAk/Dixon. Current bills were ordered paid on motion by Zak/Dixon. The mileage rate was raised retroactive to June 1 to 46.5$ per mile. The Chairman opened Public Comment. Duane Taylor wished to commend the Board on their handling *jf irrelevant, petty discussions that come up. He also wished to express his disapproval of the Board's acceptance of Rustt Co. Highway Dept. bid on blacktopping which was $2,000 higher than Monarch Paving. He feels the Town should either bid or contract—one or the other. He also felt the Town should be willing to sell enough property to Dan Ruiter by the Amacoy tubes to give him right-of-way to the river. Dan Ruiter then made several comments on the land at the Amacoy tubes. He was not able to be present at the June meeting when the Board made their decision not to sell any land. He said he had notified Art Dixon that he would not be present and he resented Zak's comment that apparently he was not interested after all. He also brought up an incident from several years ago, saying that Dixon had mentioned at an Amacoy Property Owners meeting that Ruiter had damaged property belonging to him some years ago and he felt it was inappropriate because he had offered to pay damages. He wished to have an apology from Dixon. He also asked for a clarification in the minutes of Steve Brockaian's comment at the June meeting where he mentioned that people may follow a shoreline as long as they keep their feet wet. He suggested that everyone should read the DNR laws very carefully. Also it was brought up that he does not want logs put on his property when beaver dams are removed. Dixon explained that when the logs cannot be put on shore, the Amacoy Lake Ass'n (who usually remove beaver dams) throw them in the creek and eventually they end up blocking the tubes and it is quite costly to remove them. Bob Lorkowski commented that he feels the Town was quite right to accept Rusk Co. Highway Dept.'s blacktop bid and that the bidding process works very well and should be continued. Dixon reported that a sign for the dumpster at the Amacoy boat landing would cost about $60. He suggested that perhaps the lid could be changed so there would be only a small opening, which woul.d limit dumping large items. It was decided to try this before putting up a sign. The Environmental! Challenge group put in 350 yards of gravel at the boat ramp. New toilets will be needed- It may be possible to combine resourses with the DNR and Forestry Dept. at a cost of about $2,000 each. Next meeting will be held on August 4, 2008 at 7 p.m. There will be no Comprehensive Planning meeting until September. Motion to adjourn by Zak/Dixon at 7:45 p.m.
