January 4, 2010 January board minutes
JANUARY 4, 2010 The Stubbs Town Board held their regular monthly meeting at the Town Hall on Monday, January 4, 2010 at 7 p.m. All members were present. The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. Minutes were approved on motion by Zak/Taylor. Financial Report was approved on motion by Zak/Taylor. Current bills were audited and ordered paid on motion by Taylor/Zak. PUBLIC INPUT: Dan Ruiter suggested the River Rd. has been plowed wider than necessary so snowmobiles cannot use it. He asked that room be left so the snowmobiles can go through. Dixon explained that a property owner at the end of the road requested that the road be kept open all winter and the town is obligated to plow. Taylor said he thought this person would agree to leaving room for snowmobiles and he would look into it. Dixon suggested that since the snowplowing employees had worked all day on Christmas and had done a really good job that they should receive time and a half pay for that day. Taylor objected. Zak moved that time and a half be paid for Christmas Day. Dixon seconded. Taylor voted no. Motion passed. The Clerk was instructed to send 3 reservations for the Town Board to attend the WTA District meeting at Cumberland on February 6, 2010. The Board appointed Lyle Lieffring to serve on the library Board for another 3-year term. The Board conducted an audit of the Clerk and Treasurer's books for 2009. Motion by Zak/Taylor to approve and accept the books was passed. SECOND PUBLIC INPUT: Dan Ruiter suggested Joe Scherer's snow-plowing bill should be more detailed and should include the dates of each plowing. Lieffring reported the fire sign bill will be ready for the next County Board meeting. Next Board meeting will be held on Monday February 1, 2010 Motion to adjourn by Zak/Taylor at 7:55 passed.
